| The Finnish Amateur Radio League (SRAL) and Contest Club Finland (CCF) have announced that Finland will host the World Radiosport Team Championship, July 9-16, 2002.
The SCCC is one of 13 US contest clubs that have been asked to nominate team captains for WRTC-2002. The process is different than previous WRTCs. In 2002 there will be 10 contest teams representing the US. Each of the selected 13 contest clubs must submit a list of 10 nominees, 5 from the West and 5 from the East, by June 15, 2001. The West is defined as call areas 5, 6, 7, Ø KH6 and KL7, while the East is 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 9. The WRTC-2002 organizers will then select 5 captains from the West and 5 from the East based on the number of "votes" nominees receive. Details of WRTC-2002 can be found on the official web site at: http://www.wrtc2002.org/.
