W6UQF Memorial Trophy
The SCCC honors the memory of Charlie Oakes, W6UQF, who died on June 24, 1996, with the W6UQF Memorial Trophy. Charlie was an extremely active member of the SCCC, always on during seemingly every contest to at least hand out QSOs to the regulars, if not involved in a full-throttle effort.

The trophy is presented annually to the SCCC member who has the highest aggregate published low power single op score in the ARRL Sweepstakes CW and phone contests. Any member who operates wthin the club's 175-mile radius in the low power category in either the phone or CW versions of Sweepstakes is eligible to win the award. If you operated low power CW and high power phone in the contests, your aggregate score would be your CW score only. On the other hand if you operated low power CW and low power phone in the contests, your aggregate score would be the sum of your CW and phone scores.

Members wishing to be considered for the award must submit their claimed scores to the SCCC vice president by April 30 of the year immediately following the contest. The scores published in QST will be used to determine the awardee, and the award will be presented at the June meeting.
